#AustrianGP 2023: MotoGP highlights from Saturday

Racing action on the track and a summer party mood off it. Our review of Saturday at Spielberg.

It seems that the weather gods may also be hardcore MotoGP fans. The thousands of fans who made their way to the Red Bull Ring on Saturday, as well as those who had already set up their tents in the surrounding campsites on Thursday and Friday, were treated to some splendid weather. In the summer temperatures, the campsites turned into one big barbecue party. Over grilled sausages and a cold drink, the fans talked expertly about Francesco Bagnaia’s lights-to-flag victory. With this triumph for Ducati in the sprint, the manufacturer continued its winning streak at Spielberg.

MotoGP Bike City is pushing the gas

The Red Bull Masters of Dirt FMX Shows with ARAS Freestyle Shows also continued in the MotoGP Bike City. Luc Ackermann and colleagues brought the already red-hot atmosphere to boiling point with their display of two-wheeled skills. When the four riders did backflips in quick succession, it was clear that this show is an unmissable part of the weekend. If you didn’t catch it the first time, you have another chance to see some of the world’s best motocross acrobats live in action on Sunday.

Fan dreams come true

Fans also had two opportunities to get up close and personal with their MotoGP idols. The morning saw Round 1 of the Hero Walk on the Styrian Green Carpet (Round 2 is scheduled for tomorrow), and in the late afternoon came the Meet the Riders session where, once again, photos were taken and autographs signed. “The atmosphere here is certainly among the best on the whole calendar,” said top rider Jack Miller, who is competing in his first race at the Red Bull Ring in KTM teamwear.

Final showdown

If you want to experience this unique atmosphere for yourself, tomorrow is your very last chance. The box offices will open at 08:00. If you arrive at the Red Bull Ring from 07:30 onwards, an Early Bird voucher awaits you (while stocks last). You can redeem this voucher at the stalls in the MotoGP Bike City.
