The Central European leg of the MotoGP calendar is about to reach its climax. In addition to a double dose of racing action with the Sprint and Grand Prix, the Red Bull Ring has a full programme of bonus entertainment extending throughout the weekend. The four days of festival atmosphere begin with the Public Pit Lane Walk and the ‘MopedGP von Österreich‘ on Thursday and continue with live concerts in the newly redesigned MotoGP Fan Zone and autograph sessions with the world championship stars.
Zoom around the circuit on your moped…
For the second year in succession, the MotoGP race weekend at the Red Bull Ring gets underway with the ‘MopedGP von Österreich‘. On Thursday 17th September, ticket holders have the opportunity to ride their own 50cc moped around the Grand Prix circuit. If you are an aficionado of this most typically Austrian form of transportation and wish to participate, you will need to register in advance.
... or explore the pit lane
After the sound from the many moped engines has died down, attention on Thursday will shift to the Public Pit Lane Walk, your opportunity to get a close-up look at the working environment of the world championship teams. Many of the MotoGP stars will be present and more than happy to oblige with selfies and/or autographs. Weekend ticket holders have free admission, with access on a first come, first served basis.
Public Pit Lane Walk: 04:20 p.m. – 05:40 p.m. Admission: 02:30 p.m.
The MotoGP Fan Zone shines in a new look
For the first time, three different entertainment zones will create a true festival and open-air atmosphere, featuring live music, bands and DJs:
- In the Rock Area, you can expect energetic guitar sounds and plenty of biker atmosphere.
- The VibeSphere combines DJ sounds with the world of Red Bull and invites you to relax and hang out.
- At the Steirer Stadl, Austrian hospitality, beer-garden vibes and live music come together.
Tip: The live acts performing in the MotoGP Fan Zone will be announced shortly.
What else to expect in the MotoGP Fan Zone
There’s plenty of action beyond the music, too: During the day, Adrian Guggemos will thrill fans with spectacular Trial Freestyle Shows, while Danny Leon and Brandon Valjalo showcase their skills at the Red Bull Skate Shows. Senad Grosic will provide high-speed BMX action at the Red Bull BMX Shows.
World championship stars up close – Fans in the mix at podium ceremony
Starting Thursday, the MotoGP Fan Zone will welcome you at its usual spot behind the Niki Lauda Turn and will remain open until Sunday evening. Once again, this side-event hotspot is the place to be for autographs and memorable photos. At “Meet the Riders”, you’ll get closer to the stars than ever before. The absolute highlight will take place on Saturday after the MotoGP Sprint, when the stars join the fans in celebrating the podium ceremony. There will be additional opportunities for selfies on Saturday and Sunday at the “Hero Walk on the Styrian Green Carpet” in front of the Welcome Center at the Red Bull Ring.
