Official roll-out of the 2023 MiniGP™ Austria Series at the Red Bull Ring

It was ‘knees down’ on 6th and 7th April of this year at the official roll-out of the 2023 MiniGP™ Austria Series at the Red Bull Ring. No fewer than 26 talented youngsters from all over Europe will be chasing points during the second season of the MiniGP™ Austria Series.

Eight contestants sporting red-white-red insignia are on the starting list in the 160cc class, including three riders from Upper Austria (Oliver Gegenleitner, Dominik Kichgatterer and Julian Schönberger) as well as two riders each from Steiermark (Fabian Bachler, Lukas Schuller) and Vienna (Samy Fernbach, Lucas Wogowitsch). There is also a starter from Carinthia in the shape of Adrian Luckensteiner.

The new 190cc class features the top riders from the 2022 inaugural season. Fabian Beitschek (Salzburg) and Patrick Faderl (Upper Austria) will be vying with Tyrol’s Niklas Kitzbichler for valuable championship points. The season gets underway five weeks from now at the Red Bull Ring (20th/21st May). Before then, the talented two-wheeled racers will have the benefit of a test day on 23rd April, also at Spielberg.

If you are aged between 12 and 16 years and dream of becoming the next MotoGP World Champion, our Red Bull Ring Riding Experiences are just the thing for you. Our Ohvale MiniGP Rookie Training is accompanied by professional instructors and offers you the best opportunity to test the bikes at the limit in a safe environment. Gustl Auinger, patron of the MiniGP™ Austria Series, is enthusiastic about the opportunities available to aspiring MotoGP riders at the Red Bull Ring: “The boys and girls can take a playful approach here and simply experiment – out of curiosity and not because it’s a drill.”

Participants of our Ohvale MiniGP Rookie Training are allocated by our instructors to training groups according to their riding level. In the first step, the youngsters ride around to build up their confidence in the bike. They are then taught by the instructors how to accelerate and brake. The next step is to teach them about visual awareness and how to corner.

The next step is our KTM RC4R Rookie Training. Weighing in at 92 kg and powered by a 150cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine, the bike is the genuine article and requires from you to have the right body posture. Of course, there’s also space for a few laughs.
