Lights out on the race track
The F3 cars will be putting in their first practice laps at 09:55 a.m. If you’re intending to catch the Formula 3 practice session, then make sure you set off in good time. If you travel by bus, train or bike, you will not only be using a more environmentally friendly but also less stressful mode of transport.
You can board the interregional bus shuttles at one of 120 stops throughout Austria. These will take you directly to the gates of the Red Bull Ring (and back again, of course!). Additional City Shuttles will be running on Saturday and Sunday. If you would like to reserve a seat even at this late stage, click here to book one of the few remaining places.
When you travel by train – whether with a “Sparschiene” or “Freizeit-Ticket” – all routes lead to Knittelfeld station. From here, shuttle buses run to the Red Bull Ring every 20 minutes from 07:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m. and every 30 minutes from 08:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m (Sunday until 08:00 p.m.).
The journey by bike takes you along an idyllic route. Motorists are advised to leave their cars at the Park & Bike at the thermal spa in Fohnsdorf and to cycle the last few kilometres to the Red Bull Ring on the marked cycle paths.
If you decide to come by car or motorbike, you can find our recommended routes here. There are several parking lots located around the Red Bull Ring. If you are travelling by motorbike, you will be directed through various checkpoints to the motorbike parking area.
The biker cloakrooms are open from 07:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (also open for non-motorcyclists).
Formula 1 free practice
Friday is traditionally free practice day for the Formula 1 teams and drivers. FP1 starts at 01:30 p.m., FP2 at 05:00 p.m.
Make sure you drink and eat enough, wear light and breathable clothing, and protect your head and skin from the sun.

High-octane programme off the racetrack
Even before the first laps are driven on the Red Bull Ring, things will be hotting up in the F1 Fan Zone and the Steiermark Village – the gates will be open for you from 8.00 am onwards. Throughout the day, F1 drivers will be putting in an appearance on the F1 Fan Zone stage and answering questions from the compering duo of Tom Walek and Karina Toth, among them Mercedes, Red Bull Racing, Alpine, Haas F1 Team, and Ferrari.
Musical acts such as DJ FEYBL, JUSTFRÄNDS, House Gospel Choir, Toby Romeo and David Puentez will be stoking up the party atmosphere in the F1 Fan Zone. No fewer than seven bands have been lined up for Friday in the Steiermark Village, including „Berglandpower“, „Die Steirerkanonen“, „nordwand“ and DJ Admin.
Make sure you don’t miss anything by saving important programme items in your Red Bull Ring App. Don’t have the app on your smartphone yet? Then you should download it now!
