Spielberg to host MiniGP™ Austria Series & Austrian Junior Cup

MiniGP 190cc class, Anina Urlass #21, Tobias Kitzbichler #36

Austria’s next generation of motorbike racers will be flocking to the Red Bull Ring this coming weekend for the highlight of their season when the MiniGP™ Austria Series and the Austrian Junior Cup will share the billing with the Internationalen Deutschen Motorradmeisterschaft (IDM). The line-up will feature talented juniors from all over Europe.

The situation in both classes of the MiniGP™ Austria Series ahead the Spielberg weekend is finely balanced. Ethan Sparks travels to the Red Bull Ring as the new overall leader after two victories at the Wachauring. Lurking just four points behind is Levi Flier, who has himself also won two races in the 2023 campaign. Lucas Wogowitsch is currently the leading Austrian rider, occupying tenth place in this top-class international field. In the 190cc class, Tobias Kitzbichler from Tyrol is still in with a decent chance of winning the championship.

My feel for the bike keeps getting better from lap to lap. I’m hoping that I can make my current excellent form count in front of the home crowd.
Daniel Krabacher — Austrian Junior Cup overall leader

In the Austrian Junior Cup, the destination of the title could be decided as early as this weekend, as Austrian youngster Daniel Krabacher has pulled out a massive 44-point lead over his compatriot Niklas Wannenmacher. “My feel for the bike keeps getting better from lap to lap,” says Krabacher. “I’m hoping that I can make my current excellent form count in front of the home crowd.”

Fans can look forward to an action-packed racing programme this weekend. The paddock is open to all ticket holders, and on Sunday there will also be a pit walk with the opportunity to get autographs and selfies with the IDM riders.
