The Josefimarkt (St Joseph’s Market) traditionally marks the start of the motorsport season at Spielberg, but that’s not the only reason why petrolheads already have the date circled in their diaries. On 23rd March, everyone will have the opportunity to lap one of the most modern racetracks in the world in their own car or on their own motorbike. Drive as fast as you like in the secure knowledge that there are no speed cameras lurking round the next corner.
The running order for the Red Bull Ring Classics has now been finalised with the addition of the Alfa Revival Cup as the seventh race series on the weekend schedule. The line-up already has fans of historic racing cars drooling with delight! The Touring Cars Golden Era, the Boss GP and the CanAm & Sportscars are all set to revive a bygone era. Day tickets start at 35 euros, with tickets for the whole weekend available for as little as 50 euros. Access to the paddock and the Pit Lane Walk are included in the price of all tickets.
Raw emotion! This best sums up the biggest motorsport event in Austria. 304,000 spectators through the gates at Spielberg for the 2023 GP race ensured a great atmosphere. Max Verstappen crowned the weekend with his 101st victory for Oracle Red Bull Racing, and there is no end in sight to the Verstappen era. The only thing that can keep up with the world champion is the speed at which tickets for the Austrian GP are being snapped up. So make sure you don’t miss out.

MotoGP fans are wondering whether Marc Marquez is going to take a ninth world title in 2024. Few would bet against him. He will be riding a Ducati in the forthcoming campaign. Either way, two-wheeler fans can look forward to an entertaining MotoGP season, in which one thing is already beyond doubt: the Austrian Grand Prix will once again be a nail-biter that will have quite a few fans jumping out of their seats. KTM in particular will be doing their very best to add a third victory at Spielberg after their triumphs in 2020 and 2021.
The contestants in this most German of all racing series do not spare each other’s bodywork. An ‘exchange of paint’ only vaguely describes the show put on for spectators as competing drivers go wheel-to-wheel in the chase for championship points. A prominent figure at Spielberg will be local hero Thomas Preining. The Austrian has his sights set on defending his title. The support series (ADAC GT Masters, the ADAC GT4 Germany and the Porsche Carrera Cup) also contribute to the racing spectacle.
