“A weekend at Spielberg is a great event for the whole family. There is just so much to experience – for young or old, male or female,” Gerhard Berger said during MotoGP at the Red Bull Ring. There is another impressive schedule in store for fans during the DTM weekend from 23 to 25 September at Spielberg. Anyone who wants to get as close as possible to the DTM drivers and GT3 cars has the option of securing a ticket for the paddock or the pit walk in addition to your event ticket. In addition, fans at the Red Bull Ring can take part in an exclusive Service Road Tour (on Saturday & Sunday) for the first time. This ‘once in a lifetime’ experience, which is generally reserved only for professional photographers and a select few others, gives you another opportunity to see the inner workings of motorsport.

In the DTM Fan Village, you have the opportunity to go on the hunt for autographs and pose for selfies with Lucas Auer, Nick Cassidy & Co. To allow the fans to see the mechanics working on the cars, a pit between two team garages will be reserved for the Pit View during the DTM weekend. Good chance of an Austrian home victory in the DTM

The excitement in the title battle is building going into the penultimate race weekend. As second in the standings, Lucas Auer has a real chance to make up plenty of ground on leader Sheldon van der Linde at Spielberg. Since 2015, Auer has been bidding to become the first Austrian to take a home victory in the DTM at the Red Bull Ring. Thomas Preining from Linz also has that ambition in his sights after taking Porsche’s first victory in the DTM this season with his debut success.

Going into the penultimate race weekend at Spielberg and the season finale at the Hockenheimring in October, Preining even has a chance of being the first Austrian to ever win a DTM title. In with a better chance of making history, however, are Lucas Auer and a Viennese racer with an Italian license, Mirko Bortolotti (Lamborghini), who is currently in fourth place. In addition to Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes and Porsche, BMW will also be on the grid with Austria’s Philipp Eng. Austrian fans will therefore definitely be busy cheering on their drivers at the Red Bull Ring this weekend.

There are two chances of DTM securing home victories on Saturday 24 September and Sunday 25 September at 13:30. You will find the programme for the DTM weekend here.
