Two kiwis racing tractors on an F1 circuit

Have you ever seen two New Zealanders battling it out on a Formula 1 race track in tractors? Neither had we – until today! When content creator ‘Austriankiwi’ and F1 driver Liam Lawson go head to head, it’s guaranteed to be a fun contest. Find out here how the two of them prepared for the Austrian Grand Prix with uniquely Austrian skills – tractor driving, Schnitzel cooking, yodelling and racing with “Lederhosen”.

LIAM LAWSON competes for the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls in the FIA Formula One World Championship.

JONNY BALCHIN has been living in Austria for several years now. He shares what he has learnt about the idiosyncrasies of the Austrian character in witty, entertaining fashion on his social media channels.

Cookery basics, dialect training and fitness: Every true Austrian knows how to make Wiener Schnitzel. Liam is now also in the know, because Jonny has initiated him into the finer points. Along the way, he also gave him some dialect tips in preparation for the Austrian Grand Prix: “Passt scho!” (It’s fine)

Echo of the Red Bull Ring: The third corner of the Red Bull Ring is known for its incredible braking forces and, as of today, also for its acoustics. T3 was clearly the ideal location for a yodelling challenge between the two Kiwis.

Showdown with a tractor: An F1 driver on a tractor? Why not? But an F1 star driving a tractor on a GP race track? That’s something else. The Red Bull Ring makes it possible. You can see how the two ‘Austrian Kiwis’ fared in the video here:
