Three-time world champion Max Verstappen has been crowned – and the first signs of the upcoming Formula 1 season in the land of the Austrian GP are showing. The FIA and the Formula 1 Group confirmed a total of six race weekends will have the sprint format with sprint races, including the “Formula 1 Großer Preis von Österreich 2024”. The race weekend in the Styrian valley of Murtal will take place from June 28th to 30th.
Third F1 sprint at the Red Bull Ring – changes announced
Following its introduction in 2021 and the Red Bull Ring premiere in 2022, the third F1 Sprint in Austria will be held next season as part of the Austrian Grand Prix. Drivers will have to give their all on three consecutive days to maximize points. Formula 1 announced adjustments to the sprint format on Tuesday, which will be presented by the F1 Commission at the beginning of 2024.
