He’s done it at last! World championship dominator and Spanish superstar Marc Márquez riding a Ducati has now scored maximum points at the Red Bull Ring in Austria for the first time, not only winning the Saturday’s sprint, but also the Sunday’s Grand Prix. As an extra treat for fans, the Top Three lifted their trophies on a podium set up on the event stage amid a cheering crowd in the MotoGP Bike City.
While the motorcycle elite were otherwise engaged, the ‘Red Bull Masters of Dirt FMX Shows’ and the ‘Red Bull Freestyle Stunt Show’ thrilled the fans with spectacular displays. The party atmosphere was amplified by live music, featuring bands and DJs such as Velvet Wasted from Graz and the DJ duo TWO KINX.
For autograph and selfie hunters, the MotoGP weekend at the Red Bull Ring was a dream come true, with more opportunities for fans to meet their favourite riders and maybe even exchange a few words than at almost any other race track. On the programme were the Public Pit Lane Walk (Thursday), “Meet the Riders” (Thursday through to Saturday) and the “Hero Walk on the Styrian Green Carpet” (Saturday and Sunday).
