Hundreds of groups participated in the Red Bull Stage – Take Off band contest to get their hands on one of three spots in the lineup of Nova Rock festival in Nickelsdorf. With a monumental milestone in their band’s history behind them, one ensemble will experience the highlight of their musical career to date in two months: Graz-based Velvet Wasted will perform the Austrian National Anthem in front of an international audience at the “Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich 2025” at the Red Bull Ring!
Founded in March 2020, four musicians from Styria’s capital city – bound by close friendship – have managed to make their way into the playlists of the European music world in just a few years. Recently, their tour led them to Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Their single “Blame it on the Nights” appeared on many Austrian radio stations and even featured on BBC Radio. Before Velvet Wasted take to the start-finish straight of the Red Bull Ring – where the stars will later grid for the Grand Prix – they will put on the heat on the event stage of the MotoGP Bike City.
