F1 stars up close

The first fan highlight took place on Thursday. After two years of virtual meetings, the Pit Lane Walk attracted thousands of visitors to the Red Bull Ring. From 15:00 to 18:00, the fans had the chance to wander through the pit lane and take a glimpse over the shoulders of the F1 teams as they made their final preparations for the Formula 1 Rolex Großer Preis von Österreich 2022. If you were not able to take part in the Pit Lane Walk on Thursday, there are more chances to see your F1 heroes up close on Saturday with Meet the Drivers and on Sunday at the Styrian Green Carpet. Max Verstappen cannot wait

An enthusiastic world champion, Max Verstappen, says: “The race weekends at the Red Bull Ring are always fun. There is huge support from Holland, and it is also a home Grand Prix for us. I like the track with the fast corners and the differences in altitude.” After his pair of wins last year, he is the record winner at Spielberg. Yuki Tsunoda is looking to make amends after his debacle at Silverstone and the AlphaTauri driver said at the opening press conference on Thursday: “We have had good races in Austria in recent years. Hopefully we can win some points again this weekend.”

Festival atmosphere in the Fan Zones

The doors opened at noon today in the Fans Zones. While DJ Martinez warmed up the motorsport enthusiasts in the F1 Fan Zone with his dance beats, Kraftspender, Sunnseitn and Die Mugls ensured for a lively if more traditional atmosphere in the Steiermark Village. From a lap in the F1 Simulator to the latest ranges of the F1 teams to culinary delights – the Fan Zones have something for everyone. You can find the schedule of the Fan Zones here
