Austria’s Grand Prix circuit features prominently at Steiermark-Frühling in Vienna, which runs from Thursday to Sunday this weekend. The Red Bull Ring kicked off the event with a press conference at the Red Bull Energy Station on Rathausplatz attended by various VIPs including Landeshauptmann (chairman of the provincial government) Mario Kunasek, Dr Helmut Marko, Red Bull Erzbergrodeo founder and organiser Karl Katoch, Heinz Kinigadner and General Manager of the Red Bull Ring Thomas Überall.

Dr. Helmut Marko is the new ambassador of the Red Bull Ring

Major events staged at the Red Bull Ring are a significant economic driver in Styria. As host to Formula 1, MotoGP and the DTM, the province is Austria’s undisputed motorsport stronghold. At a press conference held jointly with Red Bull Erzbergrodeo (focus on two-wheeled racing), the top attractions for the 2026 summer season were revealed. Dr. Helmut Marko made his first appearance in his new role as Red Bull Ring Ambassador.

Until Sunday, you have the opportunity to find out about the Spielberg calendar at Rathausplatz in Vienna, to get a taste of motorsport and to build up your anticipation for events in the beautiful Murtal valley in the heart of Styria! Do pop by – we’re sharing a platform with the Murtal tourist board, the ‘inspiring places’ by TAUROA and AQUALUX Therme Fohnsdorf.

Three masterpieces of racing technology on display at the Red Bull Energy Station will leave a strong impression:

  • Pedro Acosta’s KTM RC16 MotoGP bike from the 2025 season
  • A Harley-Davidson Bagger bike, which competes for the first time this year in a new one-make racing series to coincide with six World Motorcycle Championship weekends (final to be held at Spielberg)
  • Red Bull Racing’s record-breaking RB19, in which Max Verstappen won his third successive Formula 1 World Championship title in 2023. The Austrian outfit secured 21 victories in 22 races that season, 19 of them going to the Dutchman.
