DTM: Highlights of the season start 2026 at the Red Bull Ring

The opening of the DTM season and the motorsport year at Spielberg resembled a picture-postcard scene, with a total of 51,000 visitors. In perfect weather, happy faces were everywhere as fans experienced motorsport up close, collecting lasting memories at autograph sessions, pit walks and in the DTM Fan Zone. Wings for Life ambassadors Marcel Hirscher and Matthias Walkner also treated themselves to a front-row race experience.

Red-white-red top drivers celebrate first DTM double home victory

Austria’s home heroes Thomas Preining (Porsche/Manthey) and Lucas Auer (Mercedes-AMG/Team Landgraf) celebrated the first one-two finish in a home race at the Red Bull Ring on Saturday. On Sunday, Austrian title contender Lucas Auer secured another podium finish (3rd place), while 2023 DTM champion Thomas Preining came home in 13th. The German duo Maro Engel and Marco Wittmann claimed victory in the second race.

Top manufacturers line up on the grid at the Red Bull Ring

Aston Martin, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes and Porsche – a list of names to savour for all true motorsport fans. In addition to the two main DTM races, fans were treated to more exciting races in the partner series: ADAC GT Masters, ADAC GT4 Germany, Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland and FIA Formula Regional European Championship.

Rubbing shoulders with the DTM stars, goosebumps guaranteed

Over three days, 51,000 fans were able to stroll through the open paddock and soak up the high-octane atmosphere. Pit walks and Meet the Drivers sessions presented the opportunity to collect autographs and take selfies with the stars. Fans who booked one of the Service Road Tours will undoubtedly have got goosebumps from being driven around within metres of the racing tarmac.

Entertainment for the whole family

The DTM Fan Zone and the area around the race track offered something for every member of a motor racing fan’s family entourage: From the ball pit for the little ones, to e-simulators, an airbrush station, and much more, all the way to breathtaking flight manoeuvres by the Red Bull Rotorwings.
