When the DTM returns to the Red Bull Ring on the weekend of 12th to 14th September, the support programme for the illustrious German touring car series will feature no fewer than four top-class partner series. In addition to following the fortunes of Austrian title contender Lucas Auer, you can also look forward to being entertained by the ADAC GT Masters, the ADAC GT4 Germany, the Prototype Cup Germany and the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland.
As summer draws to a close, the Red Bull Ring is the venue for yet another standout event on the racing calendar, with sleek GT3 racing cars, double racing action on Saturday and Sunday and wheel-to-wheel battles for every inch of track. This season, a dozen teams are fielding cars from nine premium manufacturers: Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG, McLaren and Porsche. A change in the rules for the Sunday race requiring contestants to make a second mandatory pit stop has added an additional twist to the plot.
Spielberg hosts the penultimate two-race fixture of the season and could even see the title decided here (or at least the direction for the decision). After many years competing in the series, Lucas Auer is on the verge of finally winning the title in 2025. The Tyrolean comes to his home race at the Red Bull Ring as championship leader. It’s all the more important therefore that he gets maximum support from the red-white-red crowd. 2023 DTM champion Thomas Preining from Upper Austria and reigning DTM champion Mirko Bortolotti from Vienna will of course also be in the starting line-up.
The Red Bull Ring is hosting one of the four DTM events in 2025 which share the billing with the ADAC GT Masters, in which two drivers take turns at the wheel in two 60-minute sprint races. Now into its 19th year, this series likewise pits a wide variety of brands against each other.
The ADAC GT4 Germany is aimed at up-and-coming young talent and ambitious gentleman drivers. Two races are held each weekend. Two drivers share the cockpit and switch mid-race.
The Prototype Cup Germany is the one and only series for Le Mans prototypes in the German-speaking world. Sports cars in the LMP3 class are used. The prototypes compete on four DTM weekends. This year, the Red Bull Ring has been chosen as the venue for the final of the series.
The Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland season consists of six races contested within the context of the DTM. The car is the well-established Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with an output of around 510 hp. Each race event features two 30-minute races.
