Anyone there can expect a truly incredible weekend. It all starts on Thursday with the popular Pit Lane Walk. Admission is from 13:30 at the start finish grandstand (sectors K-A) for anyone who has both a valid F1 event ticket and a Pit Lane Walk ticket. Battle for pole position already on Friday
A sprint event will be held at the Red Bull Ring for the first time in 2022, which means that qualifying will be held as early as Friday. The racing starts at 09:55 with the FIA Formula 3 practice session. Formula 1 is to hold free practice from 13:30 to 14:30. At 17:00, the first highlight of the F1 weekend will see the qualifying process start. In a 60-minute session, Max Verstappen & Co will fight for pole position for Saturday’s sprint. Also on the track on Friday will be the drivers of FIA Formula 2 and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The complete schedule can be found here.
Ready, set … sprint
On Saturday, the F1 drivers will fight for both World Championship points and their starting positions at the “Formula 1 Rolex Großer Preis von Österreich 2022” over a distance of 100 kilometres. When the F1 teams are taking a break, cars from the side series as well as the Red Bull Driftbrothers and the Jet Bus will keep the fans on their toes from the track. Away from the race track, it will all be going on at the F1 Fan Zone behind the Niki Lauda curve and in the Steiermark Village opposite the Red Bull Ring. Tip: If you want to see the F1 drivers up close, you have the opportunity to do so on Saturday from 09:20 to 10:20 at the “Meet the Drivers session” in the F1 Fan Zone.
Styrian Green Carpet to be rolled out
On Sunday from 09:00, fans will once again have the chance to see the F1 drivers and team principals in the flesh at the Styrian Green Carpet in front of the Welcome Center. Fans can expect a diverse programme before the lights go out at 15:00 to start the race. Under the motto of Five Decades of Formula 1, the Legends Parade celebrates its comeback at Spielberg – with six legendary drivers and six of the most stunning and fascinating racing cars from the sport’s history. As a tribute to his father Niki, Mathias Lauda will drive the Ferrari 312B3 from 1974 in a racing suit made to match his father’s original. The Flying Bulls will ensure for an incredible show packed with horsepower in the air. Fans can look forward to seeing iconic aircraft thundering over their heads. In addition to a legendary B-25 J Mitchell, an Alpha Jet and an F4U Corsair will take to the skies – and the Austrian Air Force will honour Formula 1 and the visitors to the Red Bull Ring with impressive air displays.
