One simple tip – massive results: Combining your 2025 Formula 1 weekend at the Red Bull Ring with a stress-free journey is like hitting the jackpot! Many ways lead to the Austrian Grand Prix, the best one via public transport. Regional shuttle buses, inter-regional coach transfers with stops in several federal states and getting to Spielberg via train have all showed effective in past years. There are lots of alternatives to taking your own car and you can even use a bicycle to cover the last few kilometres to the track.

To the front door of Red Bull Ring by coach

As an alternative to the tried-and-tested traffic concept for cars, several means of public transport are available to reach the Formula 1 race at the Red Bull Ring in comfort. Both regional shuttle buses and inter-regional coach transfer options are on offer. On the racing weekend, fans can hop on in several federal states. Additional express shuttle buses will be available for Saturday’s qualifying and Sunday’s race.

Opt for early arrival - Partial single-lane traffic on the S6

Once again, you can rely on a tried-and-tested car traffic concept in case you decide to take your own car. Here are a few tips for you to plan your trip:

  • Coming from Vienna, the Vienna metropolitan area and Lower Austria: Apart from the known construction site along the S6 Semmering Schnellstraße in the Semmering region, the S6 will be reduced to a single lane in both directions due to roadworks before the St. Michael junction in the area of Leoben. Expect heavy traffic and delays in these areas. This is why we recommend fans from this region to take a train to arrive in comfort.
  • Coming from Upper Austria and Schladming-Dachstein, you should exit at Trieben (follow the signs) to avoid the St. Michael junction.

Especially on Saturday and Sunday, expect your journey to take longer, which is why an arrival before 8:00 AM is strongly recommended. Try to have all seats in your car occupied and follow the signs all the way to the parking lot. We have set up a designated parking lot for motorcycle riders that offers lockers to store your equipment.

How about a train ride? Or taking a bicycle to the Grand Prix?

In 2025, especially if you come from Vienna, you should either take a train or one of the inter-regional shuttle buses due to roadworks – an offer by the Red Bull Ring and a great alternative to taking your own car. Your arrival station would be Knittelfeld. From there, free shuttle buses will take you to the Red Bull Ring. Between Friday and Sunday they run every 20 minutes from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM and every 30 minutes from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Sunday until 8:00 PM). A Park & Bike parking lot is available at Therme Fohnsdorf, which you can reach through the Judenburg-Ost exit via the S36. From there, signed bicycle paths lead to the bicycle parking areas around the Grand Prix area.
