Zuffenhausen moves to the Alps – Red Bull Ring Classics 2026

When the Red Bull Ring Classics is staged against the impressive backdrop of the Alps, fans can look forward to a special moment in the programme, namely the Golden Era Classic Cup, which will be hosted by Red Bull Ring in its second season and celebrate the history of the Porsche Cup series from 1986 to 2009 with exciting races featuring legendary Porsche models.

After a successful debut year, the series will bring an exclusive range of historically significant Porsche vehicles back to the track in 2026. The technical evolution of the Zuffenhausen-based brand will be on seamless display – from its air-cooled origins to the water-cooled powerhouses of the recent past.

Four divisions, one legend: It’s all in the mix

  • Division 1 (Classic)

Here, spectators are taken back to the genesis of legends, including classic 911 F and G models, the 914 mid-engine classics, and the early transaxle 924 and 944 Turbo models.
  • Division 2 (Aircooled Cup)

This class is dedicated to the legendary air-cooled Cup icons of the 1990s, such as the 964 Carrera Cup and the 993 Cup 3.8.
  • Division 3 (Watercooled Cup)

The transition to the modern era is marked by the water-cooled generations of the 996 and 997 GT3 Cup.
  • Division 5 (Endurance)

The powerhouses of the series – this is where thoroughbred endurance racers such as the 911 RSR and spectacular VLN, IMSA and Le Mans vehicles come to the fore.

Authentic motorsport at close quarters

Cars entered in the Original Cup are enhanced by contemporary conversions in accordance with Group H regulations. ‘Special’ versions are allowed on an invitation basis. This diversity ensures a field of top drivers, which, in the context of the high-calibre programme of the Red Bull Ring Classics, sends a clear signal of brand passion and authentic motorsport.

On the last weekend in August, spectators will have the chance not only to watch these cars battle it out on the track, but also to marvel at the fascinating technology up close in the open paddock. The Golden Era Classic Cup combines nostalgic charm with the dynamics of a modern race track and promises goose bump moments for every Porsche enthusiast.
