Welcome, Race Fans! How to have a relaxed journey to the F1

To help you make your way to the Red Bull Ring, we’ve put together the following essential information.
Arrival of fans

Tens of thousands of motorsport fans from all over the world will attend the Formula 1 Rolex Großer Preis von Österreich 2023 from 30 June to 02 July. Make sure that your journey to the Red Bull Ring is as calm as possible by leaving your car at home – simply take the bus, train or bike instead. Not only is it a more relaxed way to travel, it’s also cheaper for you and better for our planet.

Here’s all the information you need:

Take the shuttle

This year, in addition to the reliable regional shuttles, you will also be able to use long-distance shuttles from more than 150 bus stops in six federal states of Austria. Just find the stop closest to your hotel or home and travel straight to Spielberg without the risk of traffic jams. You will get off right outside the race track – and of course the return journey after the event will be just as convenient. On race day, there will also be express shuttles to the Formula 1 Rolex Großer Preis von Österreich 2023. You must have a valid F1 event ticket to book.

Please keep in mind that the number of shuttle seats is limited.

Take the bike

For those who want to get out of the car and into the saddle, or live close by and would prefer to take their bike, there is a central Park & Bike car park at Therme Fohnsdorf. In order to get to the car park, take the Judenburg-Ost exit on the S36 from both directions. Clearly marked bike paths will lead you to the event site. Bicycle parking is located right next to the Red Bull Ring on Spielbergerstraße (L503).

Take the train

Within Styria, the Freizeitticket will get you to Knittelfeld station quickly and easily. From anywhere else in Austria, we recommend booking an ÖBB Sparschiene ticket. From Knittelfeld station, simply take the free shuttle to the Red Bull Ring and back after the race. The free shuttle buses will run every 20 minutes from Friday to Sunday between 08:00 and 20:00, and every 30 minutes between 20:00 and 23:00 (on Sunday until 19:00).

Take the car or motorbike

If you are arriving by car or motorbike, we recommend hitting the road as early as possible and arriving before 07:30, especially on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, advance planning can save you a lot of time and hassle.

Remember: the early bird catches the worm. On Sunday, there is an Early Bird offer for everyone who arrives before 07:00. Our traffic guidance system with signs along the access routes will make it easier for you to get to the car parks, which are all within walking distance of the racetrack. If the current traffic situation does not allow for it, please follow instructions given by the marshalls.

Getting to the campsites

The campsites are only a few minutes’ walk from the Red Bull Ring, putting fans close to the action and within a few steps of the race track. If you arrive on Wednesday or Thursday, you will usually be able to get to your campsite without any problems – and above all without any traffic jams. For those arriving on Friday or later, we recommend arriving before 09:00. If you arrive later, please factor in some delays and diversions. For the best possible distribution upon arrival, campers will be guided by LED signs on Murtal Schnellstraße (S36) on Thursday.
