With an incredible 346 races in over twenty World Championship seasons, the Italian is one of the top riders in the list of active careers. Strictly speaking, he started as a wildcard rider in the 125cc class in 2001, where he celebrated his only world championship title in 2004 at the age of 18. Andrea Dovizioso is also a two-time runner-up in the 250cc class and a three-time runner-up in MotoGP. Until the 2025 race weekend, he and Francesco Bagnaia will – for now – hold the record at the Red Bull Ring with three wins. In his duel with Marc Márquez, Dovizioso secured two of his three Spielberg victories in the final corner of the race (2017 and 2019).
