Arrival by car at the Red Bull Ring

Travel to Formula 1 should be well planned. Here you will find all the information about arrival routes, travel tips, parking, and even departure by car.

Arrival routes

We recommend trying to arrive before 08:00.

A2 – Seebenstein junction – S6 – St. Michael junction – S36

If you’re coming from Vienna, please note that the S6 Semmering Schnellstraße will be reduced to a single lane in several sections around the race weekend. Due to construction in the Semmering region and around Leoben, delays are expected in both directions.

A2 – Bad St. Leonhard – B78 Obdach – Weißkirchen in der Steiermark

A9 – Gleinalmtunnel* – St. Michael junction – S36 (Construction site, please expect delays!)

If you’re coming from Schladming / Selzthal region, it is recommended to exit at Trieben (follow the signs) to avoid the St. Michael junction.

TIP: Traffic reports on Hitradio Ö3 radio station provide regular updates on the current traffic situation. The Austrian motor-way operator ASFINAG‘s free app, too, offers comprehensive information regarding traffic jams, accidents, roadworks, closed roads and rest areas.

Parking at the Formula 1

Key information about parking around the Red Bull Ring at a glance:

  • Parking at the Red Bull Ring is free of charge.
  • Depending on your arrival route, police and event staff will guide you to the nearest available parking lot (please follow the onsite signage).
  • All parking lots are within walking distance of the event grounds.
  • There are plenty of parking spaces for all visitors, so no reservation or advance booking is required.
  • Please remember your parking lot number, which is displayed at the entrance of each parking area.

 

There is a limited number of paid parking spaces located opposite the event grounds (in the accredited area). These guarantee the shortest walking distance to the event and a relaxed arrival via a dedicated access route.

Departure from the parking lots

Please follow the departure signage and the instructions from stewards and police at all times when leaving. They will show you the fastest way without encountering the departure traffic from other parking lots.
