Immerse yourself in motorsport history

The Red Bull Ring Classics is the first standout event of the 2025 motorsport season at Spielberg. Drivers and cars will be lining up on the grid for racing series such as Formula Historic, Fast Seventies Benelux, Alfa Revival Cup, Touring Car Golden Era, Histo Cup Historic (Appendix K), NK82-90 and the Porsche Classic Cup. They will, however, have stiff competition for fans’ attention with the stars of the supporting programme.

Karl Wendlinger honours Spielberg with his presence

Interested in seeing a racing legend of yesteryear occupying the cockpit of the car in which he achieved his greatest successes? One of the main attractions of the season opener will be the appearance of former Austrian Formula 1 driver Karl Wendlinger. The Tyrolean will get back behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz C11 and put in a few high-speed laps of the Grand Prix circuit, bringing back memories of the glorious epoch in which he and partner Jochen Mass won the 1990 Sports Car World Championship at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. You can also inspect at close quarters the Mercedes-AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+ (the winning car of the 2017 Austrian Grand Prix) and the famous Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8, which was somewhat disrespectfully dubbed ‘Red Sow’.

Rallying fans are also going to love the Red Bull Ring Classics 2025

The legendary Group B cars epitomise pure rallying. They had a lasting impact on motorsport in the 1980s and are still revered around the world today. High-powered beasts such as the Audi Quattro and Renault 5 Turbo remain unrivalled today. Their Group A successors such as the Audi 80 or the Lancia Delta Integrale, also made motorsport history. Around a dozen of these fine specimens, as well as an Opel Kadett GT/E from Group 2, will be on parade at the Red Bull Ring on 26th and 27th April. You can also admire them as stationary exhibits at one of the vehicle shows.

The Red Bull Ring Classics is a festival for all motorsport fans who enjoy experiencing the incomparable sound and pure engine power first hand. Tickets at a special advance booking price are still available here until the week of the event. Children can enjoy the Red Bull Ring Classics with heavily discounted tickets. The open paddock and pit lane walks guarantee even greater insight into the world of historic racing cars.
