On August 27th-28th, 2022, hundreds of motorbike enthusiasts will once again display sensational racing action at the 19th International Rupert Hollaus Memorial Race at the Red Bull Ring in Styria.

Revive old times with wonderful vintage machines, in the “fast classes” the modern and powerful Superbike and Supersport bikes will be on the grid.

The sidecars are represented in two groups: Int. Sidecar Trophy and historic sidecars.

14 classes will be judged – from Superbike, Supersport, Youngtimer, Vintage to the sidecars in the groups “Speed” and “Uniformity”. Designed and handmade trophies await the winners.

With this event, IG Formula Classic commemorates the only Austrian road motorbike world champion to date, Rupert Hollaus from Traisen, Lower Austria.

Parade: Historic and rare motorbikes, driven by legends and stars from the motorsport scene, can be experienced, marvelled at and admired at close quarters during a parade.

Sidecar highlight: Sidecar racing has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years. The acrobatics of the co-drivers, also called “grease monkeys”, influence the cornering technique of the vehicles on three wheels with their enormous power and body control. In two classes (600/1000 ccm) the participants of the “Int. Sidecar Trophy” compete for the 2022 championship title. A full field of historic sidecars will start with impressive and historic vehicles, in which the co-drivers trim the team while sitting, kneeling or lying down at high speeds.

Spectators: Corona measures permitting, spectators will again be admitted! With a valid ticket, motorbike sport fans can also visit the paddock, have “petrol talks” with the riders and teams, get autographs and take “selfies”.

Price for a day ticket (Saturday or Sunday): € 35.00

Price for 2-day ticket (Saturday and Sunday): € 45.00

Safety: Medical centre and car, race doctors, rescue helicopter and over 50 marshals will ensure the safety of riders and visitors. Race control drivers in high-powered racing and sports cars will guide the racers in the introductory laps and during race interruptions.

Patron of the event is Red Bull CEO Robert Hohensinn.
