In the past, historic racing cars have already thrilled fans in the Formel Historic series at the Red Bull Ring, and in 2026, many well-known cars will once again appear at the Red Bull Ring Classics 2026.
According to the regulations, five divisions are permitted:
Division 1
Formula cars and sports cars are divided into vehicles with treaded tires and slick tires. The vehicles must not show any technical modifications and must comply with the homologation specifications of their era. Eligible vehicles include:
- Formula Vee
- Formula Ford 1600
- Formula Junior
- Formula Abarth
Division 2
Formula cars and sports cars – vehicles without technical modifications – must also comply with the homologation specifications of their time. Eligible vehicles include:
- Formula Ford 2000
- Sports 2000
- Formula Renault 2.0 8V (original ECU, older series)
- Formula 3 up to model year 1990 (original 24 mm restrictor)
- Formula BMW SB1
- Formula Alfa Boxer
- Formula König
Division 3
In Divisions 3 and 4, vehicles must also remain technically unchanged and comply with the homologation specifications of their era.
- Formula 3 with 24 mm restrictor
- Formula Opel Lotus (series)
- Formula Renault 8V (up to model year 2000)
Division 4
- Formula 3 from 1990 to 2000
Division 5
2-liter vehicles up to model year 1990 that have been technically modified, including prototypes (former Libre category):
- Formula 2
- Formula Atlantic
Division 6
- Formula Renault FR 2000 Tatuus in original specification according to the technical standards of the time
